My parents noticed my inclination towards music when I was just 4 years old. They bought me a mouth organ and a banjo, which I started playing immediately because of my God-gifted talent for music.
After this first step into the world of music, there was no looking back. Soon I started performing regularly in a weekly children's programme on Radio Pakistan where I was then popularly known as 'Salman Mian'.
My parents belonged to the academia and the importance of education was instilled in me very early in life.
Though I was passionate about music, I became equally passionate about studies and completed my MBA in Marketing with flying colours from IBA, a leading business school in Karachi, Pakistan.
Being an optimist, I find inspiration all around me. I believe nature itself is very musical and rhythmic. From the rhythms and perfectly synchronised cycles of nature to our heartbeats, from the songs of the birds to the sounds of the ocean waves, God has put some part of music in everything in the universe.
I make music that is representative of my generation while consciously striving to popularise the treasures of our eastern music among younger generation.
